I would like to warmly greet you, the participants of the 9th Gabala International Music Festival, and wish successes to the Festival, and my good wishes to each of you. Having contributed, for centuries, to the development of dialogue between civilizations, Azerbaijan has, historically, made efforts towards strengthening the unity between peoples. Every project, which increases the significance of the cultural and spiritual integration, is very valuable to us. The events of international importance held recent years in our country have brought together representatives of all peoples, regardless of their language, religion and ethnic relation, having proved that peace and humanism are Azerbaijan’s fundamental principles.

This holiday of friendship and music, involving musicians from around the world, contributes to the strengthening of dialogue between civilizations, creating favourable conditions for intercourse and cooperation for musicians representing various countries, along with Azerbaijan’s being recognized as one of the successful models of multiculturalism and tolerance around the world.

I am confident, this year’s festival, where an interesting and colourful music programme is presented, will be remembered by our guests, as well as in the music culture history of Azerbaijan as one of the meaningful pages.
