9th Gabala International Music Festival’s closing ceremony and final concert take place

The 9th Gabala International Music Festival, held with the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and “Gilan Holding”, turned last week the world’s attention to Azerbaijan, becoming a true holiday of music in our country. One of the most significant events in our country’s cultural life, this festival is remembered by its rich programme and valuable guests. Performances of the most famous musicians of Europe and the world harmonized with Cabala’s magnificent nature.

 

On August 3, the closing ceremony and final concert of the 9th Gabala International Music Festival took place at the Heydar Aliyev Congress Centre with full house. Members of the National Assembly, ambassadors of foreign states to our country, and state and government representatives attended the Festival’s closing ceremony. 

 

Member of the National Assembly, chairperson of the Elders Council Fattah Heydarov and one of the artistic directors of the Festival, music director of the orchestra “Virtuosos of Kiev”, conductor of Jerusalem’s Symphonic Orchestra, world-renowned cellist Dmitri Yablonski spoke at the event.

 

At the end of the ceremony, the stage was placed at the disposal of the Azerbaijan State Symphonic Orchestra. At the concert, held under the leadership of world-renowned Italian conductor Nomeda Kazlaus (soprano), the orchestra was accompanied by Azer Rzazadeh(tenor), who is currently studying in Italy, and Maharram Huseynov (baritone). The orchestra demonstrated high level of professionalism and individual style of performance, bestowing matchless impression on the audience. Works by R.Wagner, P.I.Tchaikovsky, W.A.Mozart, J.Verdi, R.Molinelli and I.Kalmann were performed at the concert. The final concert of the Festival took place with participation of over a thousand spectators, ending with thunderous applauses.
