An Azerbaijani conductor wins the second place at an international contest

Chief conductor of the Baku Chamber Orchestra and Munich New Philharmonic’s Symphonic Orchestra Fuad Ibrahimov won the 2nd place at the 4th International Conductors Contest named after Yevgeny Svetlanov, organized in Paris with support from “Radio France”, “France musique”, “L'orchestre philharmonique” and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

 

Out of four contenders in the finale, Fuad Ibrahimov and Dmitry Filatov took the 2nd place. According to the jury’s opinion, Fuad Ibrahimov and Dmitry Filatov were assessed as equal strong rivals, and both of them were rewarded on the 2nd place. A decision was taken not to reward on the 1st place. Other two contenders Haoran Li and Wilson NG were awarded diplomas of the contest.

 

At the end, founder of the contest Marina Bouer spoke and thanked the partners of the contest. “I want to thank our partners, especially the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, for the support provided in realization of the contest” – said M.Bouer.

 

Fuad Ibrahimov’s file for candidacy had been submitted to the contest by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. He was chosen for the 4th International Conductors Contest among 350 candidates.
