An international symposium on “Industrial commitments: archaeology and contribution to cultural heritage” takes place following the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative

On November 28, An international symposium on “Industrial commitments: archaeology and contribution to cultural heritage” was arranged.

 

The event took place following the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative, with organizational support from BP Azerbaijan, “Icherisheher” State History and Architecture Reserve Department, “Azergold” Close Joint-stock Company and Austria’s “Atelier Erich Pummer” Company.

 

The symposium aimed at introducing projects by various companies and organizations on preserving cultural heritage to the public, exchanging experience on works carried out in this field, at the same time, in-depth studying of archaeological finds unearthed during excavations, and promoting thereof.

 

State and government officials of Azerbaijan, NGO representatives, people of science specialized in this field, as well as representatives of Austrian and Georgian companies and entities attended the event.

 

Representatives of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the  Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, “Icherisheher” State History and Architecture Reserve Department, “Azergold” Close Joint-stock Company, BP Azerbaijan and the National Museum of Georgia delivered speeches with presentations about the recent years’ activities aiming to preserve cultural heritage, informing about the works done in this sphere.

 

Inauguration of a special exposition, comprised of samples of material and cultural heritage, also took place in the framework of the event. The exhibition will be demonstrated in the museum of “Stone Annals” in the course of 6 months.
