A sports and entertainment area called “DOST Corner” was inaugurated for disabled people and children with impaired health condition in a sports and entertainment park complex in Khatai district of Baku, following the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative and enjoying the support of the Ministry of Social Protection of Population.

With a view to ensuring that physically disabled people can engage in various types of sport and spend their free time efficiently, sports facilities, merry-go-rounds and additional facilities were installed to suit their possibilities. Those in a wheel chair too will be able to engage in sports, and children with limited health condition can avail themselves of entertainment facilities.

Head of the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Social Protection of Population Vugar Behbudov and representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Fidan Yusibova attended the project’s presentation.

Special care shown by President Ilham Aliyev towards vulnerable groups of population, including disabled people, was talked about at the presentation ceremony. It was noted that actions of social nature, as well as those aiming at disabled persons and children with impaired health condition have their special place among the projects implemented following the initiative of First Vice-president of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva.
