Artists of an international art festival create models of Kharybulbul on the territories liberated from the occupation

An international art festival was organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the framework of the Kharybulbul Music Festival, to be held in Shusha.

Being inspired by our victory in the Patriotic War, 32 artists representing 13 countries have created unique artworks at the international festival “Kharybulbul”, to be held for the first time. Representing Azerbaijan, Estonia, Jordan, Iraq, Israel, Latvia, Morocco, Netherlands, Pakistan, Romania, Turkey, Ukraine and Greece, artists Anar Yolchiyev, Anastasia Tarasenko, Andris Vitolins, Dina Oskilko, Leyla Aliyeva, Nikole Bukreyeva, Rəhimakhanum Hajıyeva, Sare Kural, Yelena Hagverdiyeva, Zohrab Salamzadeh etc., having translated what they had seen on the territories liberated from the occupation and the feeling they had experienced onto the models of Kharybulbul they have created for the festival, presented artworks giving a message to the world.

Moreover, artists have created artworks on the theme “Paintings of memory” on linen, using oil paint.

The primary objective of the project was to demonstrate to a wide international audience the scale of destructions on the territories that were under occupation for about 30 years, and the aggression against our historic monuments, our national and cultural heritage, our national values and nature, through the artists representing various countries.

The artworks will be showcased during the Kharybulbul Music Festival in Shusha, which is declared the cultural capital of Azerbaijan by the Resolution of President Ilham Aliyev.

The holding of such a festival in Garabagh - one of our ancient districts known for their beautiful nature and rich natural resources – serves also the enriching of the intercultural dialogue.
