Historical event “Heydar Aliyev-100” at Victoria and Albert Museum

An event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev took place at the Rafael Gallery of the Victoria and Albert Museum, a large historical, architectural and cultural hub of the Great Britain, one of the influential museums of the world.

 

In 1998, National Leader Heydar Aliyev attended a concert at the place where the event was organized during his visit to the Great Britain, and delivered a speech. The National Leader had emphasized the importance of presenting the Azerbaijani music and art at this historical hall. The said important historical moment added another feature to the event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev on May 25.

 

Held with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the event was attended by Trade Envoy of the Great Britain’s Prime Minister for Azerbaijan Baroness Emma Nicholson, assistant to the Azerbaijani President, Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov, deputies of the Great Britain Parliament’s House of Commons, lords, the head of the National Assembly’s Working Group for Azerbaijan - the Great Britain interparliamentary relations, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in this country, members of the private sector, renowned public figures, and members of the Azerbaijani community in the Great Britain.

 

An exhibition dedicated to the life and activity of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and a concert programme were presented at the event. The exhibition showcased photos and information about the life and political activity of the National Leader, significant events from the history of Azerbaijan, and bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Great Britain.

 

Speaking at the event, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Great Britain Elin Suleymanov talked about exclusive merits of National Leader Heydar Aliyev towards strengthening Azerbaijan’s position in the world, and expansion of interstate relations.

 

Trade envoy of the Great Britain’s Prime Minister for Azerbaijan Baroness Emma Nicholson called Heydar Aliyev the builder of contemporary Azerbaijan, and an instigator of its prosperity.

 

FeMusa Chamber Orchestra, created by Azerbaijani violinist Nazrin Rashidova-who resides in the Great Britain, where representatives of 25 countries got together, Honoured artist, tarzan Sahib Pashazade and violinist Sabina Rakcheyeva, who resides in London, performed at the concert programme.
