Secretary of State of the Holy See visits Heydar Aliyev Center

Secretary of State of the Holy See Cardinal Pietro Parolin, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, has visited the Alley of Honors to pay tribute to National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

Pietro Parolin then visited the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country's independence and territorial integrity, and put flowers at the Eternal Flame monument.

He also visited the Heydar Aliyev Center. Director of the Heydar Aliyev Center Anar Alakbarov informed the Secretary of State about the activities of the Center and the exhibitions displayed here.

Secretary of State of the Holy See Pietro Parolin then met with Azerbaijani Minister of Culture Adil Karimli. The meeting discussed the current relations between Azerbaijan and the Holy See, projects in the field of culture, including cooperation between museums and libraries. The Secretary of State of the Holy See was invited to participate in the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue to be held in Baku in 2023.

Pietro Parolin also visited the Mother Teresa of Calcutta Missionaries of Mercy and St. Mary Roman-Catholic Church in Baku.

As part of the trip, Cardinal Pietro Parolin will hold meetings with representatives of religious communities in Azerbaijan.
