A documentary entitled “Leader’s Heart” is presented at the Heydar Aliyev Center

On October 10th, presentation of a documentary entitled “Leader’s Heart” was held at the Heydar Aliyev Center.

 

Authored by First Deputy Director General of TACC Information Agency, Honoured Journalist of the Russian Federation Mikhail Gusman, the film is dedicated to National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s 100th anniversary. 

 

It is no coincidence that October 10th was chosen for the presentation of the film. So, October 10th is the day on which National Leader Heydar Aliyev was inaugurated after he was elected President for the first time in 1993.

 

In his speech before the show of the film, Mikhail Gusman said: “ Today, October 10th, is a special day. Exactly 30 days earlier, on October 10, 1993, Heydar Aliyev took the oath as President of independent Azerbaijan. At that time, he actually rescued the country, which was in a grave condition. Heydar Aliyev’s biggest dream was liberation of the lands from occupation and the Azerbaijani flag’s flying in liberated Shusha, and entire Karabakh. On November 8th 2020, the Azerbaijani flag was raised in Shusha, and on September 20th this year, in entire Karabakh” – he said.

 

Mikhail Gusman thanked the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for the support provided to the realization of the film.

 

The film covers the period while National Leader Heydar Aliyev returned to the political power in Azerbaijan by the demand of the people, and his ruling of the country. It is underscored, in the film, that such a return occurred for the first time in the world history.

 

Heydar Aliyev has played a significant part in the history of the people of Azerbaijan, leaving an indelible trace in the world politics. The documentary “Leader’s Heart” contains also interviews of Mikhail Gusman with Bill Clinton, George Bush, Jack Chirac, Madelene Albright, Tony Blair, Zbigniew Brzeziński and other world-scale politicians about Heydar Aliyev.  

 

At the time of Heydar Aliyev’s presidency, official Baku managed to increase the number of its strategic partners, strengthening its position in the international arena, and the Azerbaijani diplomacy had intensified  at such organizations as OSCE and the UN. Far-sighted politician, Heydar Aliyev ensured that foreign companies make large amount of investments into Azerbaijan, securing the signing of the Contract of the Century.

 

The film presents exclusive interviews of Heydar Aliyev by Mikhail Gusman, his valuable thoughts, as well as rare archival documents associated with his political activity.

 

Shootings of the film were conducted in Moscow, Baku and Nakhchivan, the homeland of the National Leader.

 

Director of the documentary “Leader’s Heart” is Valeri Spirin, with the scriptwriter being Marina Denisevich. People’s Artist of Azerbaijan Polad Bulbuloghlu composed a song to the poems of Yuri Ryashentsev.

 

After the show of the film, People’s Artist of Azerbaijan Elchin Azizov performed the song “Requiem” in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, accompanied by People’s Artist Polad Bulbuloghlu.

 

The film has been made in the Azerbaijani, Russian and English languages.
