The closing ceremony of the Space of Mugham 7th International Music Festival is held in Aghdam
Organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture, the Space of Mugham 7th International Music Festival came to an end.
On June 22, the closing ceremony of the festival took place in free Garabagh – the cradle of mugham – at the Mugham Centre in Aghdam.
The ceremony started by the demonstration of Azerbaijani national dance, performed by the State Dance Ensemble of Azerbaijan. Thereafter, a video reflecting the events held within the festival was shown.
Deputy minister of culture Jahangir Salimkhanov, People’s artist of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, chair of the jury at the mugham contest Munojat Yolchiyeva, rector of the Azerbaijan National Conservatoire Kamilla Dadashzade spoke at the event.
Then, laureates of the international mugham performers contest, held within the framework of the festival, were rewarded.
The special award “For loyalty to traditions” of the Azerbaijan National Conservatoire was presented to an Uyghur group from Xinjiang, China.
Awards were presented to representatives of Uzbekistan Alibek Saparboyev and Dilnoza Akbarova(3rd place), representatives of Azerbaijan Nuraddin Taghiyev and Mahta Mahammadalizade Behnama (2nd place), Farangiz Mahmudova from Uzbekistan (1st place) and the winner of the contest’s Grand Prix, Maftun Safarli from Azerbaijan.
The event ended with an interesting concert programme by laureates of the contest, and other khanendehs.
Thus, this time too, the Space of Mugham Festival brought together performers from tens of countries in Azerbaijan and turned into an unforgettable art event of the first half-year of 2025.
