Organized and held by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture, the Uzeir Hajibeyli 17th İnternational Music Festival’s grand closing ceremony took place.
A closing ceremony and the Koroghlu Opera by Uzeir Hajibeyli in a new staging, presented by the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre of Azerbaijan, were realized at the Heydar Aliyev Palace.
The play has been prepared by Honoured person of art, director Hafiz Guliyev. The orchestra’s conductor is Mustafa Mehmandarov, stage managing artist - People’s Artist of USSR Tahir Salahov, artist - Honoured worker of culture Tehran Babayev, choirmaster - Honoured person of culture Sevil Hajiyeva, stage managing choreographer - People’s Artist of USSR Gamar Almaszadeh, and coaches - People’s Artist Madina Aliyeva and Honoured Artist Yuri Lobachev.
Leading stage masters of Azerbaijan participated in this three-act, five-scene show. Koroghlu (Rovshan), the main character of the work, was revived by People’s Artist Yusif Eyvazov. The role of Nigar was played by Honoured Artist Ilaha Efendiyeva, while Honoured Artist Jahangir Gurbanov played the character of Hasan Khan.
The following characters were played as follows: Ehsan pasha – Fahmin Ahmadli, Ibrahim khan – Nazim Mahmudov, Hamza bey – Honoured Artist Farid Aliyev, Aly – People’s Artist Ekrem Poladov, villagers Nadir and Eyvaz – Nazar Baylarov. Other parts were played by Honoured Artist Aliahmad Ibrahimov (clown and messenger), Hidayat Aliyev (Polad), People’s Artist Fidan Hajiyeva ( the girl-khanendeh), Honoured Artist Tural Aghasiyev and Mammadhasan Shammadov (noblemen). Presented with rich performing content and high stage culture, the show was one of the memorable moments of the festival.
This year, for the first time in the history of the Uzeir Hajibeyli Music Festival, its musical events covered over 10 cities and districts of the country, in addition to the capital. Concerts based on works of the unforgettable composer, and other events were also realized in other countries within this framework.
