The Ulyanovsk Province Governor thanks the management of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for cooperation
Ulyanovsk Province Governor Sergey Morozov said: ‘We have quite warm relations with Azerbaijan. We well remember national leader of your people Heydar Aliyev and we are sincerely grateful to him for coming here in the hardest time – in 1983, when we lost a lot of people, and for helping us to survive this disaster. Last year we opened the Heydar Aliyev Square in our town in his honor with participation of two presidents – Dmitri Medvedev and Ilham Aliyev’.
The Governor stated: ‘We cordially express gratitude to Mehriban Aliyeva, the spouse of the Azerbaijani President. She helped us in restoration of one of the nicest schools in Ulyanovsk on the eve of September 1 last year. This school has fully been equipped with the latest appliances. The school has actually been reconstructed, an amazing museum has been created there. Many people representing various nations visit this museum. I think we have quite kind relations with good prospects. We frankly thank Vice President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leila Aliyeva for visiting Ulyanovsk. We have a few projects for improvement of the school here and rendering aid to Azerbaijani children from the Azerbaijan national-cultural autonomy’.
Replying to the question on the joint projects scheduled, Mr Morozov noted in frame of Leila Aliyeva’s visit to Ulyanovsk, implementation of several projects was discussed. ‘We will not talk now about those projects, since they have not been declared officially. But today Ulyanovsk is known as the territory where the marathon of cultural events in CIS will take place and it has been possible thanks to your state in many aspects. Because Ambassador of Azerbaijan Polad Bulbuloghlu has very actively helped our province to change into the major center for cultural events in CIS’, he added.
S.Morozov underlined according to the relative share of investment made in the economy of Russian Federation by the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ulyanovsk comes first.
