English and Arabic versions of book "The Patroness of Our Culture and Cultural Masterpieces" presented

After the Azerbaijani and Russian versions, book "The Patroness of Our Culture and Cultural Masterpieces" dedicated to the multilateral actions of Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, in the sphere of culture were presented in English and Arabic at the M.F.Akhundzade National Library, June 22.

Published in frame of the project by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the 8-chapter book covers Mehriban Aliyeva's activity in 1995-2010 in the field of culture.

Talking of the huge works done by national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev in the sphere of culture, First Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Vagif Aliyev said this policy is successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev.

He emphasized the great contributions of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva to the development of Azerbaijani culture, protection of intangible cultural heritage, including mugham that has been included in the universal masterpieces list.

As a result of the purposeful activity of Mrs Aliyeva, the mugham of Azerbaijan, art of ashyg, Novruz Holiday, Azerbaijani carpet have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

MP Tahir Rzayev, Chief of the Baku City Culture and Tourism Department Alikram Aliyev, Director of Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Doctor of Philology Aybaniz Aliyeva-Kangarli, Secretary of the Azerbaijan Writers Union Rashad Mejid, People’s Writer Chingiz Abdullayev spoke of the large-scale works of Heydar Aliyev Foundation led by Mehriban Aliyeva.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev has written the foreword to the books, academic supervisor of which is Sevda Mammadaliyeva, project manager Lala Kazymova, designers Latifa Mammadova, Ali Eyvazov and Mayil Ahmadov.

The books contain a lot of information presented for the first time and photographs.
