Employees of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation met with reps of Azizbeyov District community
Employees of Heydar Aliyev Foundation met on July 15 at Azizbeyov District Executive Power with district elders and community reps.
Opening the action, head of district executive power Gulaga Islamov stated President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva was closely familiarized with boarding schools of the district on February 2-3 and since then many works were done at these educational centers due to funds of Foundation. He said Foundation`s employees will inform in this meeting on the works done and to be done in Azizbeyov district, will receive opinions and suggestions of community.
Executive director of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Elekberov informed of the activity of Foundation. It was stated Foundation started its official activity since May 10, 2004, birthday of our nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev. Governed by ideas of great leader, Foundation has dedicated all its activity to our people, youth, future generations. Talking about works and projects done, speaker mentioned the art exhibition held in August of last year on the initiative of Leila, granddaughter of Heydar Aliyev, on the theme `I love Azerbaijan`. Informing about implementation of the project for development of children`s homes and boarding schools by Foundation, speaker stressed Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva visited such educational centers within Baku and had acquaintance with current circumstance.
Anar Elekberov talked of the works implemented in frame of this project due to funds of Foundation in Azizbeyov district at boarding school 16 for children with brain paralysis and poliomyelitis, boarding school 2 for orphans and children deprived of parental care, special republican boarding school in Turkan settlement for children with speech defect, republican boarding school for children with impaired hearing and having lost hearing later and other places. Besides, it was noted issues regarding the construction of drinking water line to Gala settlement from Shuvalan settlement, assurance of central library of the district with computer appliances and new books in recent days will be settled, as well repair of Azizbeyov`s culture house is on agenda.
Executive director of Foundation briefly informed about the works done in the country by Foundation. He talked of construction of 132 new school buildings in frame of the Program `New school to renewing Azerbaijan`, construction of water line to Lokbatan settlement, gifts presented to all the pupils from refugee and IDP families and etc. Azerbaijan Internet portal, which is recently to be opened, is among the works to be done. It was informed the portal covers more than 3000-page information on Azerbaijan and it is very important for our compatriots living abroad, as well citizens of foreign countries.
Addressing the action, reps of Azizbeyov district community expressed satisfaction of the functioning of Heydar Aliyev Foundation and its President Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, advanced their proposals. It was proposed in the meeting to apply to Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, President of Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, to give her consent for running her candidacy from Azizbeyov district for Milli Mejlis. Proposal was welcomed with loud applauses.
Lastly, the book on goals and activity of Heydar Aliyev Foundation were distributed and written proposals of the participants were accepted.
