Heydar Aliyev Foundation rejoices this year all the first-formers of the country

This year, Heydar Aliyev Foundation will rejoice all the first-formers of the country. 130,000 bags and educational supplies made upon the special order of the Foundation have already been presented to all the educational centers of the country.


In the beginning of every new school year Heydar Aliyev Foundation traditionally presents bags and educational supplies to schoolchildren in frame of the Support to Education Project. Starting from 2004, the Foundation yearly provides bags and school supplies to the refugee and IDP first-formers and those living in Georgia. Such presents were made last year to Azeri schoolchildren living in Russia, Holland, Turkey and Romania too.

 

The action carried out on the eve of 2008-09 school year is wider. The number of bags to be presented to schoolchildren is 130,000 since the action is designed for the whole country. Every bag includes 16 various school supplies.

 

In frame of the Support to Education, Heydar Aliyev Foundation has performed another project. Via 140 various posters developed due to support of the Foundation all secondary schools in Azerbaijan will be provided with visual aids. Preparation has began a year ago, a working group created under leadership of the Foundation’s President, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, consultations held with foreign and domestic specialists and posters made approved by the Ministry of Education. To lift quality of education, 10.000 copies of posters have been published by each subject in A1 format. Posters, total number of which is 1.400.000, will be distributed to secondary schools in all regions of the republic.

 

Heydar Aliyev Foundation cares for education of national minorities living in the country. In 2006, the Foundation presented new textbooks in Georgian language and school supplies to 1st and 2nd form pupils of Gakh-Ingiloy Village Secondary School in Gakh district in frame of the Support to Education Project. The Foundation more intensively realized such initiatives the next years.

 

The Support to Education Project provides for reconstruction of pre-school child institutions too. Within the project, kindergartens in regions and Baku villages were fundamentally repaired and equipped with modern appliances. One of kindergartens reconstructed is in Bina settlement. Launched after fundamental repair the kindergarten was equipped with visual aids, books and other modern devices promoting intellectual development of children.

 

Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s activity in field of education is not restricted with the republic. The Foundation’s day by day expands the geography of action in this direction. Possessing an international prestige the Foundation successfully continues the charity mission in several countries. The Foundation renders huge support yearly to Azeris living in Georgia to solve their education problems.

 

Regular care rendered to Azerbaijan schools operating in the capital and other cities of Russia and action of Mrs Leila Aliyeva, Head of the Russia Office of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, in this field is much appreciable.

 

In addition, the Foundation sent a set of computer and educational supplies to the Azerbaijan school operating in Amsterdam, Holland since 2007.

 

In frame of the Support to Education Project, the school in Muzaffarabad City, Pakistan rendered unavailable by destructive quake was reconstructed and launched in February 2008. The school was equipped with high-level educational appliances.

 

Cooperation established with Pushkin Library Foundation of Russia is the valuable event directed to development of science, education and culture in the country. 4000 books and 800 textbooks published over the past years in Russia on various spheres of science have been granted to the higher schools of the republic on the initiative of the Foundation and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva.

 

The New School to New Azerbaijan Project, the Foundation’s hugest in field of education, is successfully continued. The number of schools built within the project has reached 237 by constructing new schools in the country on the initiative of the Foundation for 2008-09 school year.
