French publications hail Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s financing Strasbourg Cathedral de Notre-Dame

A number of respected French publications praised Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s funding reconstruction of Strasbourg Cathedral de Notre-Dame. 

The article “Azerbaijani charity” published in the “Alsace nouvelles”, the daily newspaper in Strasbourg, the center of Alsace Region, hailed President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva`s initiative to assist in repairing the Cathedral, one of the most ancient in the country, appreciating this step by Azerbaijan, the big friend of COE.

The author of the article reminded that the Foundation had two monuments repaired in the Versailles Palace, talked about philanthropic projects the Foundation performed in other countries, noted the Foundation is named after great leader Heydar Aliyev who returned to the power upon request of the nation and led the country in 1993-2003.

Alsace, L`Express, 20 Minutes and other publications narrated on the ceremony held in the Cathedral. They stressed Azerbaijan is the leading country in the South Caucasus. They valued help by Heydar Aliyev Foundation to the repair of 2 monuments and ancient church in France as the sign of friendship of the two nations that respect and safeguard their cultural heritage, talked of projects implemented in field of healthcare and education on the initiative of President of the Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva.

Newspapers posted pictures reflecting the ceremony of presentation of funds rendered by the Foundation to the repair of the Cathedral.

France-3 TV channel highlighted President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva`s care for historical monuments, including 2 monuments and a church in France. It stressed Mehriban Aliyeva`s initiative is an example for everyone.
