The Baku International Forum Entitled “Expanding the role of women in the cross-cultural dialogue” arouses interest of World Public

Jakarta Post, the largest English-language newspaper in Indonesia and neighboring countries, published the article in frame of the series of articles on the Baku International Forum entitled “Expanding the role of women in the cross-cultural dialogue”.


According to the Azerbaijani Embassy in Indonesia, the article posted on June 14 issue of the newspaper says OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu presented a diploma on the status of envoy of the Organization for humanitarian issues to First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP Mehriban Aliyeva.

 

Ihsanoglu said the Islam world needs such a famous person like Mehriban Aliyeva who can provide assistance to people in disaster-hit regions suffering from natural disasters as quake, tsunami, aridity.

 

The newspaper says Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva’s activity is focused on education for women, assistance to orphans, charity and sport development.

 

The article says Mehriban Aliyeva was appointed Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO in 2004 for support to development of folk art and music, and after 2 years was granted the same title of ISESCO.
