An exhibition with Azerbaijan’s rich cultural values and a concert amazed the French

An exhibition with Azerbaijan’s rich cultural values and a concert amazed the French.  These words were reflected in articles published in the French media about the  exhibition and the concerts held in various cities of France in connection with Azerbaijan.

Extensive articles were printed on pages of newspapers being published in Champagne and Centre-Oust regions about the exhibition and the concerts organized in connection with our country with support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in France within the project entitled “Cultural Values of Azerbaijan: the Pearl of Caucasus” in the cities of  Reims, Châlons en Champagne, Niort, Cognac and Romorantin-Lanthenay.

It is said in an article printed in the newspaper “La nouvelle republic”  that the exhibition and the concerts associated with one of the developed countries of the South Caucasus gave the French a chance to closely familiarize themselves with the culture and art of Azerbaijan, which is located on the old Silk Way and where the first democratic republic of the Muslim Orient was established.

An article entitled “Azerbaijan: an exhibition and a concert” notes that the viewers could not help hiding their amazement at the performance of the boys’ dance group. They expressed this by their continuous standing applauses. National dances and fascinating performance of Azerbaijani girls also greatly impressed the viewers.

It is stated in the article that cultural relations create conditions to build a dialogue between nations and receive comprehensive information about a country, notwithstanding religious views. Cultural relations between France and Azerbaijan have old roots. The meeting between French writer Alexander Dumas(father) and Khurshidbanu Natavan in the nineteenth century, translation by another French writer George Sand of “Koroghlu” epos into the French, publication by Jeyhun Hajybeyli of the magazine “Caucasus” in Paris may be cited as obvious examples of the above, not to mention a few.

The newspaper states, in another article entitled “Discover the Pearl of Caucasus in the Pyramid Hall”, that the significance of the exhibition and the concert organized in various cities of France with organizational support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation within the project “Cultural values of Azerbaijan: the Pearl of Caucasus” towards promoting Azerbaijan’s historically old and rich cultural values should be noted.

Author of the article Vanina Le Gaulle recalled the trip by Mayor of the city of Romorantin-Lanthenay Jenny Logo, together with a group of senators, to Azerbaijan in February of this year in order to obtain detailed information about the Armenian-Azerbaijani, Daghlyg Garabagh conflict, and underlined that they had voted against adoption of a decision in connection with denial of the “Armenian genocide”.

In the article, the visit by Azerbaijani Ambassador Elchin Amirbeyov to  Loire-e-Cher Department  in connection with opening of an exhibition of works of art, old music instruments, carpets and other exhibits with organizational support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, holding discussions on partnership and cooperation at his meetings with  deputy General Council Claude Bofis, deputy Patrice Martin-Lalande were brought to attention, and Azerbaijan’s being a country rich in hydrocarbon reserves was emphasized.

The article talked also of Azerbaijan’s hosting a Eurovision song contest in May of this year, being a country of great tolerance, establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and France 20 years ago and France being the second trade partner of Azerbaijan.
