“Days of Azerbaijan” being held since October last year in France within the project “Cultural Treasures of Azerbaijan – the Pearl of Caucasus”, with support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and assistance by our country’s Embassy in France, to promote Azerbaijan in France, have been widely covered by mass media of this country.
In an article entitled “Azerbaijan in Chablis” printed in the newspaper “Relations with Yonne”, comprehensive information has been given about the exhibition and concert arranged on March 1-3 in Chablis in connection with Azerbaijan, a country located on the shore of the Caspian City and being the biggest of the South Caucasus region’s countries.
It is informed in the article that, reflecting the pearl treasury of Caucasus, the exhibition, where carpets, samples of coppersmithery and pottery, musical instruments and items of jewellery were demonstrated, has played en exclusive role in obtaining by city residents of comprehensive information about Azerbaijan’s old history and rich culture. Emphasizing that residents of Chablis are still under the impression of the exhibition and concert, the newspaper mentioned that mugham, a traditional music of Azerbaijani people, was entered by UNESCO on the List of World Cultural Heritage.
And in an article entitled “Events are held in La Rochelle in connection with Azerbaijan” printed in the edition of the newspaper “Sud Ouest”, a printing body of Poitou-Charentes, of March 30th, events being held by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation aimed to promote Azerbaijan, a country located on the ancient Silk Way and having important geopolitical position in Caucasus, have been highly valued.
In the article, referring to Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to France Elchin Amirbayov, it is noted that such events aimed to further strengthen the partnership between Azerbaijan and France in the field of politics, economy, education and culture.
It was informed that exhibits, cultural treasures and history of Azerbaijan, a country with 9 million population, located between Europe and Asia, with strong economy, displayed at the exhibition organized in La Rochelle have surprised French visitors.
In the article, thoughts of Elchin Amirbayov regarding the laying the foundation of partnership in the field of education within the framework of exchange of students were also noted.
