Iftar meals arranged in Pakistan on behalf of President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva for orphans are widely covered in the local media

Iftar meals arranged at Edhi Homes Orphanage in Islamabad city of Pakistan, following the initiative and with support of Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, have been widely covered in the local media. 


Pakistan’s influential English-language newspapers, such as “The News”, “Pakistan Observer”, “The Lahore Times”, “Diplomatic Star” magazine and “DNA NEWS”, “Pakistan in the World”, “One Pakistan” information agencies, as well as Urdu-language newspapers “Jang” and “Jahan e Pakistan” have placed comprehensive information about this actions. 


The media mentioned that large-scale projects implemented by Mehriban Aliyeva both in Azerbaijan and foreign countries were talked about in the event attended by well-known state and public persons of Pakistan. 


Pakistani mass media states that children that found refuge at Edhi Homes Orphanage and tens of thousands of people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province were medically examined and vaccinated against the hepatitis B virus, free-of-charge medical examinations were arranged for low-income population at Akbar Care Cerebral Palsy Institute in Peshawar city, and free-of-charge open heart surgeries were conducted at Kulsum International hospital. 


The press brings to readers’ attention that an ambulance car provided with an up-to-date blood transfusion equipment and a laboratory and 2000 blood-transfusion packets was purchased by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for he Hamza Foundation, and that in the month of Holy Ramadan and at Gurban Holiday, humanitarian actions were held in Punjab, Sind, Khyber Pakhtunkhwaand Balujistan provinces, financial aid was provided for the construction of a new building of Khyber Eye Foundation, and material aids were provided to Saif Foundation. 


Pakistani mass media have also recalled the construction by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation of a new modern girls’ school in 2007 in the place of an old school in Muzaffarabad city destroyed as a result of an earthquake, and naming this education centre, after basic repair, after Mehriban Aliyeva, following the initiative of the Pakistani government.
