The photo-exhibition "Azerbaijan - A Land of Tolerance" organized in Paris is covered by local media

An article was printed in the French magazine “Grand Reportages” about the photo-exhibition “Azerbaijan – A Land of Tolerance” of well-known photographer Reza Deghati held on November 22 at the Culture Centre of Azerbaijan, at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and with organizational support from the State Committee of Azerbaijan for Work with Religious Organizations.

Detailed information was given about the exhibition in an article entitled “Reza – Respect for Tolerance”: “Cultural diversity existing in Azerbaijan is demonstrated in photos displayed at the exhibition. The French public showed great interest  towards the exhibition.”

The article states that it was no coincidence that Reza chose Azerbaijan for the exhibition: “He has made repeated trips to countries he knew very well, and Reza was greatly impressed by how nations with different beliefs – Christians, Muslims and Jews - live in Azerbaijan in an environment of mutual respect and friendship. All this prompted the emergence of an idea to organize a photo-exhibition talking of this tolerance.”

The author emphasizes that, in Azerbaijan, people with different languages and beliefs treat each-other with respect: “Peoples living in Azerbaijan celebrate Ramadan with Muslims, Paskha with Christians and Pesach with Jews. High level conditions created in the Jewish settlement of Qyrmyzy (Red), Guba district, is an obvious example of tolerance in Azerbaijan.”

It is stated in the article that  the exhibition “Azerbaijan – A Land of Tolerance was first opened in the building of the United Nations in New York, then in the headquarters of the European Parliament in Brussels, and UNESCO.

The magazine writes that the exhibition will be open to visitors until the end of the year, and since the following year, it will be displayed in other places.

Several photos being displayed at the exhibition have been printed in the magazine.
