Pakistan`s “States Times” newspaper publishes articles on international camp in Gabala

Pakistan`s “States Times” newspaper has published two articles entitled “One Earth One Future” and “Gabala declaration” by Pakistani journalist Amir Mahmud Bhatti who attended the international camp of young environmentalists “The role of youth in environmental management: today and tomorrow” held in Gabala November 24-27.


The journalist provides information about the speech Leyla Aliyeva, the Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, initiator of the International Dialogue fοr Environmental Action (IDEA), delivered in the camp and the Gabala Declaration adopted in the event.


Talking of environmental pollution, climate change, the article says 2010 wаѕ declared Year of Ecology in Azerbaijan. According to the story, іn 2010, 14 million trees were planted in Baku and its surroundings at the initiative of IDEA.


The newspaper says the Heydar Aliyev Foundation plays important role in protection οf endangered species in Azerbaijan.


Quoting from the speech of Mrs Leyla Aliyeva, the author stresses the importance of slogan “We all have a common planet, so we have a common future” and notes possibility of life in a safe planet through international dialogue.


The Pakistani journalist also provides 5 principles indicated in the Gabala Declaration: take personal responsibility for the settlement of environmental problems, respect to the right to a safe and convenient life, comprehend more deeply the significance of the problem, youth have a voice and personal commitment, underlining young environmentalists understand their responsibility in the realization of the ideas established in the Declaration.
