An international conference devoted to Nizami Ganjavi’s creativity will be held in Strasbourg

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been continuing its activity towards promoting Azerbaijan’s culture throughout the world. The chain of events being held within the framework of the project associated with the 870th jubilee of great maser of word Nizami Ganjavi will be continued by an international conference to be held on February 14 in Paris and Strasbourg.

 

The conference will take place in Strasbourg’s Rhine Palace in the final stage of the exhibition “Universal Cultural Bridge Between the 12th and 21st Centuries: Creativity of Nizami Ganjavi” organized during 3 months from 19 November 2013 to 19 February 2014.

 

At a conference, which will be attended by guests such as Director General of France’s Alsace Region’s Cultural Affairs Directorate Alain Hauss, Administrator of the Strasbourg National and University Library Albert Poirot, Head of the Strasbourg National and University Library’s Manuscripts Preservation and Heritage Section Frederick Blin will deliver a speech on the theme of ”Nizami in Strasbourg”, Deputy Director of the Nizami Ganjavi Literature Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan Teymour Kerimli on “Love Philosophy of Nizami Ganjavi”, Professor of Princeton University’s Middle East Studies Department, Michael Barry on “Nizami Ganjavi – A Poet of Soul”, who has translated Nizami Ganjavi’s works into French.

 

Speeches of a number of influential European high school professors on the themes of “Originality of Nizami Ganjavi Manuscripts Being Preserved in Strasbourg”, “Oriental Studies of Goethe and Nizami”, “A Story of Psychological Therapy: “Seven Beauties” of Nizami Ganjavi”, “Nizami Ganjavi – A Poet of All Times and Places”  will be heard during the scientific discussion.

 

It should be mentioned that on November 12 of last year, within the framework of the project, an exhibition devoted to Nizami Ganjavi took place at the Manuscripts and Letters Museum of Paris, and on November 13, a concert program comprised of songs composed to the lyrics of Nizami Ganjavi was organized at the Culture Centre of Azerbaijan in Paris.  Cultural and mass events continued on November 19 in Strasbourg.
