Second International Ashyg Festival will be held, 10-18 November, in Azerbaijan, with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Primary objective of the Festival is to promote the ashyg art on the international arena, increase its role in the development of our national culture, and bring together Azerbaijani ashygs and masters of art from the countries where the art of ashyg is disseminated.
In the Festival to be held by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism together with the Azerbaijan Ashygs Union, ashygs from Turkey, Iran, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and other countries will take part, along with Azerbaijani ashygs.
Inauguration of the International Ashyg Festival will take place on 12 November at the Azerbaijan State Music Theatre. Festival participants are expected to perform also in the towns of Yevlakh, Gadabey, Shamkir, Gazakh, Tovuz and Ujar.
