The 8th International Rostropovich Festival will be held in Baku

The 8th International Rostropovich Festival will be held in Baku, May 17-24, with organizational support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation. 


World-renowned musicians and groups from around the world – Luigi Cherubini Symphonic Youth Orchestra, Galina Vishnevskaya’s Opera Performance Centre, Riccardo Muti, Igor Butman, Alexander Solovyov, Arseni Chubachin, as well as such well-known musicians of Azerbaijan as Rauf Abdullayev, the U.Hajibeyli Azerbaijan State Symphonic Orchestra, the Azerbaijan State Choir, and soloists will perform on the scenes of the Azerbaijan State Conservatoire, the Heydar Aliyev Palace, the Chamber and Organ Music Hall, and the National Art Museum. Within the framework of the Festival, “Payatsi” Opera by well-known Italian composer R.Leonkavallo will be shown by the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre and the troupe of Galina Vishnevskaya’s Opera Performance Centre.
