6th Maiden Tower International Art Festival will take place in Baku following the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative, June 11.
27 artists from 17 countries will take part in this traditional festival to be held in Icherisheher.
The Maiden Tower International Art Festival is held since 2010. The objective of holding this festival is to promote the Maiden Tower – a symbol of Baku - located in Icherisheher, which is entered on UNESCO’s Representative List of World Heritage, all over the world. Artists from various countriesof the world participating in the festival decorate mock-ups of the Maiden Tower in their national style and create works reflecting the synthesis of diverse cultures and traditions. These unique works play a significant role in the promotion of the Maiden Tower, Azerbaijan’s historical monument, havıng been displayed in different cities of the world.
Within the framework of the Maiden Tower Festival, which continuously extends the boundaries of art, artists will be offered to paint also pomegranate and gazelles- the symbols of the Baku-2015 First European Games.
