A conference in connection with the anniversary of the 20th January tragedy at the Uludagh University

The Turkish Representative Office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation organized a conference at the Uludagh University in the city of Bursa in connection with the anniversary of the 20th January tragedy.

 

Students and academics of the university, as well as the leadership of Bursa city attended the event.

 

Turkish representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Samir Jafarov talked of the causes of the massacre committed against the people of Azerbaijan, which struggled for its state independence and territorial integrity while the Soviet Union was collapsing, and the policy pursued by Armenians and their cunning protectors. He recalled that it was national leader Heydar Aliyev who came in those days to Azerbaijan’s Permanent Representative Office in Moscow and unmasked the culprits of the massacre.

 

Addressing the conference, Professor Goksal Isyar and docent Barysh Ozdal talked about the massacres committed centuries-long in Azerbaijan and Anatolia, as well as about the 20th January and Khojaly tragedies.

 

At the end, the conference participants viewed the stand with photos related to the 20th January tragedy.
