A secondary school building in Zagatala district’s Bahmatli village

A new building has been constructed, with support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, for the secondary school named after Aladdin Javadov in Bahmatli village of Zagatala district, which had been damaged as a result of the earthquake occurred on May 7, 2012.

 

Foundation of a new building of the school was laid in September of 2012, and in August of 2013 the construction works were completed. President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev attended the inauguration of the new school building, August 17.

 

The buildings of the school designed for 600 pupils are two-and three-storied. Total area of the buildings is 4,520 square meters. The school has been supplied with new equipment. A modern sports hall, as well as open football, volleyball and basketball pitches have been created at the school. The buildings have been provided with up-to-date air conditioning system. A monument has been erected to national leader Heydar Aliyev in the schoolyard. The schoolyard has been expanded and improved.

 

The school building, in which 480 pupils study, can withstand a 9-point earthquake.
