The 6th International Science Olympiad was held from 3 to 11 December 2009 in Baku by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, IJSO (International Junior Science Olympiad) and National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. More than 600 pupils and their teachers from 49 countries participated in the Olympiad of physics, chemistry and biology.
The Committee of Science consisted of up to 30 outstanding specialists of Azerbaijan prepared the Olympiad’s tests, theoretical and experiment-practical tasks in physics, chemistry and biology, made up nearly 500 exercises.
Azerbaijan is the first European country hosting the event.
