Children’s shelter “Place of Hope”

Located in Bina settlement of Khazar district, Baku, the children’s shelter “Place of Hope” has been basically reconstructed by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. On June 13, 2019, First Vice-president of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of the reconstructed building. 

 

The children’s shelter was founded in 1997.  Children under 18  have been inhabiting this place. While in the shelter, they are provided with legal, moral, social and medical aid, and supported in the adaptation to the society, and receiving education. 

 

Workshops on various spheres of art – carpet making, painting, handicraft - have been created at the institution, in order  to shape tastes of the children inhabiting the shelter, and developing their talents and skills. 

 

The building of the two-storied establishment is designed for 53 children. The new building allowed to create separate sections for boys, girls, and small-age children. All rooms have been provided with state-of-the-art equipment. Sleeping rooms, classrooms, computer rooms, resting zones for the inhabitants to spend their leisure efficiently, and a canteen have been created at the children’s shelter. 

 

The building’s backyard was improved, and a greenery zone laid out.
