President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva attended the ceremony of opening of the Culture Center in Bina settlement of Khazar district

Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, attended the ceremony of opening of the Culture Center in Bina settlement of Khazar district, December 28.


She was presented flowers.


Mrs Aliyeva cut the red ribbon.


It was mentioned in the event important measures to develop culture are taken over the past years in the country, high attention is paid to the culture and art figures on the state level. In this sense, the projects implemented at the initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation and its president Mehriban Aliyeva play a key role in the development of culture and its promotion in the world, preservation of the rich cultural heritage and music of Azerbaijan.


It was noted that on the eve of the upcoming holidays Heydar Aliyev Foundation granted another present to the residents of Bina settlement. Considering numerous appeals addressed to Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, the Culture Center in the settlement underwent major repair and is commissioned today within the framework of the project of the Foundation.


Photos reflecting the attention and care by great leader Heydar Aliyev, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva to the development of culture were posted on the stand in the foyer. Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva inspected the stand reflecting the previous and current state of the Culture Center.


She was informed the Center was built in the 1950s and functioned as a culture club. Reconstruction here started in 2007. The 2-floor building covers 2425sq.m.


The first floor has been designed for various circles, including chess and painting circles. Handworks by pupils are exhibited in the painting room. The Center has a literature fund containing about 14000 books. Children attending circles have participated in international competitions.


Taking into consideration the need for a new music school, Children’s Music School No24 operates on the second floor of the Center. The School has 20 classrooms, teachers’ room and other administrative rooms. Functioning for more than 10 years, the Music School includes the fortepiano, folk music instruments, string and wind instruments, theory sections. Nearly 300 children are taught playing a violin, clarinet, saz, fortepiano, tar, kamancha, accordion, balaban, drum and singing. The Center will have carpet-weaving, dancing and other circles in future.


Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva was familiarized with sewing room, canteen, reading room, saw diplomas of children distinguished in music, viewed 156-seat play hall.


She was informed the Culture Center has a boiler house and transformer station. Improvement works have been done in the yard.


The First Lady wished success to the Center’s staff.
