The 3rd International Rostropovich Festival in Baku closed
14 December, solemn closing ceremony of the 3rd International Rostropovich Festival was held at the Muslum Magomayev Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Society.
Symphonic music and classic opera were played in the closing ceremony of the Festival organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation.
The Uzeyir Hajibeyli Azerbaijan State Symphonic Orchestra performed parts from Egmont opera and other works by L.Beethoven. In the concert conducted by Maksim Vengerov, Rostropovich’s student, soloists were Rey Chen (violin), Ksavye Fillips (cello) and Philip Kopachevsko (fortepiano).
Children’s chorus of the Bulbul Secondary Music School attached to the Azerbaijan State Chorus performed the hymn of UNICEF.
Azeri Minister of Culture and Tourism A.Garayev, Executive Director of Heydar Aliyev Foundation A.Elekberov, ambassadors of foreign countries in Azerbaijan, figures of culture and art were present in the event.
