President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of the Mardakan Cultural Centre

Culture Palace in Mardakan, reconstructed according to modern standards in the initiative of First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, was inaugurated on June 14.

 

Mrs Aliyeva cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the Palace with new great look.

 

In the ceremony attended by reps of the public of Bakus Azizbayov district Mehriban Aliyeva talked of rapid economic development of Azerbaijan for last years, projects Heydar Aliyev Foundation implements in field of education, health and culture governed by this development. She noted great leader of Azeri people Heydar Aliyev had always paid great attention to cultural legacy, considered it necessary to protect that and deliver to future generations. The Foundation named after the national leader also continues his way, finds it priority to protect our national and moral values, popularize the rich culture of our people in the world. Reconstruction of Mardakan Culture Palace as high-level cultural center also is a sample of the works done in this direction. We believe the Palace that has been reconstructed will become one of the leading cultural centers in the country.

 

Building of the Palace was commissioned in 1961. Operating successfully for long years the Palace was not used like other social-cultural establishments in late 1980s and early 90s that were very difficult for our country and got into useless state because of indifference. Fundamental reconstruction works were performed at the Palace on initiative of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, MP from Azizbayov district, the buildings look has fully been changed.

 

Mrs Aliyeva greeted the youth dancing around the nice fountain in front of the Palace, toured the lobby decorated with national architectural elements, hall and rooms, was familiarized with equipment, conference room where the bust of national leader Heydar Aliyev has been set. She saw lessons and courses, astonished teachers and children with figures she skillfully made. Seeing the exhibition hall Mrs Aliyeva was informed compositions "Dede Gorgud", "Novruz is coming", "Fantasy", "Bouquet of spring" were shown in some foreign countries and UNESCO Office.

 

The building has been supplied with centralized air conditioning, signalization and fire safety systems. On the stage of the 374-seat hall of the Palace modern video monitor, light and sound equipment have been installed. The Palace covering 4641 sq.m has 150-seat small hall, lecture and dance halls. Actions of amateur art groups have been restored. There are over 10 courses. The Palaces library possessing the fund with over 10,000 books that was able before for 1000 readers will serve now 6-7,000 before. The newly organized electron library will be available for 40-50 people daily. The Palace employs 60 people.

 

On the opening day a concert was arranged at the Palace on the Day of Salvation.
