Events are held in regions of Azerbaijan in association with the 3rd International Mugham Festival “World of Mugham”

Concerts, spectacles, master classes and other events are held in a series of regions of the country within the 3rd International Mugham Festival “World of Mugham” started on March 9, with joint organizational support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Composers Union of Azerbaijan.


Along with a series of khanendes, musicians and Jazz performers of Azerbaijan, foreign guests also participate in the events.


During the recent few days, a concert of music groups in Shamakhy, a concert performance of the “Leyli and Majnun” Opera by Uzeir Hajibayli and a mugham party “From Master to Apprentice”  in Lankaran, a concert entitled “Travel to the World of Seven Mughams” in Ganja,  a mugham concert called “From Master to Apprentice”  in Shirvan, opening ceremonies of the Festival events in Gabala,  a concert by district musicians in Aghdam etc. were organized within the 3rd International Mugham Festival “World of Mugham”.


A series of events were also organized in the capital within the 3rd International Mugham Festival “World of Mugham”. “A Thousand and One Night”  Opera by Fikret Amirov at the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Ethno-Jazz project by  young pianist Etibar Asadli at Baku Jazz Centre, national music performed by “Beautiful Girls” group of China’s Sinjang-Uyghur Autonomous Region’s “Ozhalmukamy” national orchestra and Iraq’s “Iraqi Maqam” group at the International Mugham Centre, as well as mugham parties of Azerbaijani khanendes called “From Master to Apprentice”, a concert called “Greetings from the Near East” by Tunisian composer, singer, player of ud and public figure Lotvi Bushnak at the International Mugham Centre may be cited among the events held within the Festival.
