An event was held in the French city of Evian in connection with the Days of Azerbaijan

An event was held in the French city of Evian within the projects “Cultural Treasures of Azerbaijan – the Pearl of the Caucasus” in connection with the Days of Azerbaijan, to promote Azerbaijan in France, with organization support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and assistance by Azerbaijan’s Embassy in France. 


Delivering a speech at the opening of the exhibition being displayed in the Hall of Columns of Evian city’s Festivals Palace, city Mayor and, at the same time, deputy of the National Assembly Mark Francina and Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to France Elchin Amirbayov emphasized the significance of cultural events in developing relations between our countries.


Saying that every nation’s history and cultural values are preserved by its people, Elchin Amirbayov noted that Azerbaijan, in addition to being rich in oil and gas, has rich history and cultural values, and that some monuments and the music of Mugham, which has been preserved for centuries, have been entered on the List of World Heritage by UNESCO, an influential international organization.


The Ambassador noted that, as in a number of other countries, the music of Jazz has been shown wide interest in Azerbaijan, and talented young musicians worthily represent our country in international Jazz festivals and win names of a laureate.


E.Amirbayov mentioned that Evian is the 13th city where Days of Azerbaijan is held in France within the project “Cultural Treasures of Azerbaijan – the Pearl of Caucasus” of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.


At the end, a concert by “Bakustik jazz” group took place.


Works by T.Hajiyev, R.Hajiyev, S.Rustamov, V. Musafayev and S.Gambarov were performed at the concert.


The exhibition will continue until May 10.
