Another event in connection with the Days of Azerbaijan was held in Beauvais city of France

Another event within the framework of the project “Cultural Treasures of Azerbaijan – the Pearl of the Caucasus” was held, June 14, in the city of Beauvais of France with organizational support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and assistance by our country’s Embassy in France.


Opening the event, Mayor of the city of Beauvais, senator elected from the department  Caroline Cayeux said the exhibition and concert organized have special significance in terms of receiving information about Azerbaijan, its history, old and rich cultural heritage, musical instruments and items of art.


Valuing Azerbaijan, which is rich in significant cultural and historic legacy, as a place of old civilizations, the Mayor said France was interested in multilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan, a country enjoying dynamic economic development.


Jean Françoise Mansel, a deputy from the Oise Department, member of the France-Azerbaijan Friendship Group at the National Assembly, said his trip to Azerbaijan had greatly impressed him. He noted that different peoples and religions lived in Azerbaijan without any problem in a friendly and kind atmosphere, there was no discrimination in the country, and Azerbaijan has been playing the role of a bridge between the East and the West in building and developing multilateral relations.


Jean Françoise Mansel  mentioned that Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva has repeatedly been on visits to France as the head of the Azerbaijan-France interparliamentary working group, she has made special contribution to the development of friendly relations between the two countries, and emphasized the significance of the projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.


Mentioning that the exhibits displayed at the exhibition reflected Azerbaijan’s history and the richness of its culture, the deputy talked  also about sincerity and hospitality of Azerbaijanis.


Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to France Elchin Amirbayov said exhibitions and concerts in connection with the Days of Azerbaijan have so far been organized in 14 cities of France and this initiative will be continued.


Mentioning that Azerbaijan had an old and rich history, the Ambassador noted that representatives of tens of different ethnic minorities lived in Azerbaijan, there was no limitation to the development of their  language, religion, culture and literature, they enjoyed special care and attention of the state.


Noting that Azerbaijan’s tourism capacity has expanded recent years and new projects are underway in this direction, E.Amirbayov said Azerbaijan has become a leading country in the region with rapid economic development.


Prefect of the Oise Department Nicola Desforges valued the concert and exhibition organized in Beauvais as a step towards strengthening the friendship between the two countries, and emphasized the significance of cooperation in culture.


At the end, Azerbaijan’s popular and composer songs were performed by “Bakustik” and “Mugham” instrumental ensembles.


A laser show was arranged on the facade of the Cathedral located in the city centre to mark the Days of Azerbaijan.
