The 5th Gabala International Music Festival held with organizational support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation comes to an end

On August 6, the 5th Gabala International Music Festival held with organizational support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation came to an end.


Making a speech at the closing ceremony of the event, one of the artistic directors of the festival, rector of the Baku Music Academy named after Uzeir Hajibeyli, People’s Artist Farhad Badalbeyli and chairman of the Azerbaijan Elders Council, deputy of the Milli Majlis  Fattah Heydarov underlined that people lived a real music holiday in Gabala during these fourteen days.


Gratitude was expressed to President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, who has been an initiator of holding the event in Gabala, and it was emphasized that holding international music festivals on the initiative and with support from the First Lady has become a tradition.


Speakers expressed confidence that this festival will stimulate development of friendship and cooperation between countries.


Then a concert program by “Novaya Rossiya” State Symphonic Orchestra  was presented at a music evening continuing in the open air.


At a concert that took place under the direction of Dmitri Yablonsky, a world-renowned violinist of USA and Russia, one of the artistic directors of the festival, famous Russian pianist Boris Berezovsky and the youngest winner of the  “Reine Elizabeth Concours” Contest, well-known violinist Vadim Repin have performed. The musicians have presented the “Holiday Overture” and a concert by Edward Grigin for fortepiano and orchestra.
