The 4th Mugham TV Competition supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation continues

Commenced on August 7, the 4th Mugham TV Competition based on the Azerbaijan Culture Foundation’s project and supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation continues.

11 out of 21 young people that had won the right to perform at the International Mugham Centre on the first day of the competition as a result of selection rounds were introduced to the audience. On the following days of competition, the audience had a chance to listen to other participants too.

These young people were selected as a result of auditions held in various districts and cities. From the first round, in which a total of 500 young people had participated, 48 singers had passed to the next round, and 21 out of them have won the right to perform at the Baku scene.

The jury of the 4th Mugham TV Competition consists, as always, of professionals.

The fourth Mugham TV Competition is held twice a week – on Wednesdays and Fridays. All concerts of the Competition are broadcast via the Azerbaijan Television and “Medeniyyet” (Culture) channels.

Concerts dedicated to zarb mughams and tasnifs are held in the framework of the Competition. The participants perform mughams and tasnifs composed on the poems ob great Azerbaijani poets such as Fuzuli, Nizami Ganjavi and others.

One of the circumstances drawing attention at this Mugham Competition is that participants are assessed by a jury composed of professionals, rather than by SMS.
