Giammarko Palmeri thanked the Government of Azerbaijan and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for the restoration of Roman catacombs

We thank the Government of Azerbaijan and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for the support provided to restoration of Roman catacombs.

These words by Giammarko Palmeri, the head of the 5th District of the Rome municipality, were placed in Italy’s “Roma Notizie” news portal.

Saying that the Roman catacombs will be declared open to pilgrims and visitors as of April, Giammarko Palmeri said this event was of historical importance for the city. According to Palmeri, who said “No doubt, restoration of the catacombs have been accomplished at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation”,  this initiative has removed all obstacles that were encountered during the restoration process and significantly facilitated the work of the Roman Pontiff’s Council for Holy Archaeology in the relevant direction.
