Opening of the 8th International Exhibition “From Waste to Art” to take place during the Nasimi Festival

The 8th International “From Waste to Art” Exhibition will be inaugurated, September 30, at the Gala State History and Ethnography Reserve, in the framework of the Nasimi – Poetry, Art and Morality Festival. The project is implemented following the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, with the organizational support of “Clean City” OJSC, enjoying the support of IDEA Public Association, Icherisheher State History and Architecture Reserve Department and “Q Gallery” Art Gallery.

Handicrafts of 21 artist-sculptors from 14 countries are expected to be shown at the exhibition. The artworks of representatives from Azerbaijan, China, Finland, India, Croatia, Jordan, Iran, Montenegro, Uzbekistan, Russia, Turkey, North Macedonia, Ukraine and Japan will be displayed. Having been held traditionally, this year’s exhibition is dedicated to the creativity of great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Imadeddin Nasimi, whose 650th anniversary is celebrated this year.

At the moment, the artists are working on their exhibits in Gala settlement.

The exhibition “From Waste to Art“ has been arranged since 2010. From Waste to Art Museum has been functioning also since 2015 in Gala settlement. The project demonstrates that art works can be created using waste materials. The primary goal is to encourage the population to keep the environment clean, and make them refrain from throwing items they deem useless into waste bins without having once more considered.
