Aghdam Mosque’s existing condition is assessed

Following the instruction by President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, a group of specialists launched a project on restoration of religious monuments and mosques destroyed by Armenians on the territories liberated from occupation. Head of Austria’s “Atelier Erich Pummer GesmbH” Company Erich Pummer visited Aghdam Mosque and carried out assessment of the mosque’s existing condition.

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation embarked on implementation of a project on restoration of religious monuments and mosques – a national wealth of the Azerbaijani people – on the territory of Garabagh. Restoration, conservation and reconstruction of temples in the region will be carried out, involving local and foreign specialists. Works on restoration of religious temples destroyed in Shusha city and Aghdam district over the course of the occupation years have already started.
