Guests of the Kharibulbul Festival become familiar with the exhibition “Heydar Aliyev and Karabakh” in Shusha

An exhibition entitled “Heydar Aliyev and Karabakh” was inaugurated, within the 100th anniversary of National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, in the exposition hall of the Creative Centre in Shusha, of which inauguration took place today after it was restored by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Unique photos, documents and video materials reflecting National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s accomplishments towards social, economic, political and cultural development of Karabakh thanks to his consistent and purposeful policy are displayed at the exhibition. At the exhibition, there are also photos related to visits by National Leader Heydar Aliyev to Karabakh, meetings he had held there, as well as various events he participated in.

It is obvious from the exposition that National Leader Heydar Aliyev had perfectly known the history, culture and art of Karabakh, one of the oldest cultural places of the world, and had been working towards its development, showing great care and attention. The year 1969 was the great turning point in the history of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur. Great fanatic of his people, Heydar Aliyev managed to implement extensive reforms in all areas of the region in complex historical conditions. On January 12, 1979, the railway Aghdam- Khankendi was inaugurated and commissioned with participation of the National Leader. This was Heydar Aliyev’s strategic step and great historical service to more closely connecting mountainous and lowland areas of Karabakh, and other districts of Azerbaijan in economic terms.

A masterpiece of the National Leader, a strong Azerbaijani state once more proved its ability to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and independence by a glorious Victory in the Patriotic War under the leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

The exhibition aroused interest in visitors.
