A concert by the State Symphonic Orchestra of Azerbaijan takes place at the Heydar Aliyev Center

The 7th day of the Space of Mugham 6th International Music Festival also was remembered by concerts. Today, a concert by the State Symphonic Orchestra of Azerbaijan named after Uzeir Hajibeyli was held in the Auditorium Hall of the Heydar Aliyev Center.

 

Conducted by Israeli musician Benjamin Yusupov, 1st symphony authored by the conductor himself, “Fairy Tales” by Firangiz Alizade, the composition “Black/White” by Mahmoud Turkmani, and “Mugham” Symphony by Mammad Guliyev were performed at the concert.

 

Born in Tajikistan, Benjamin Yusupov is known as a composer. His works were performed in the USA, Germany, the Great Britain, France, Croatia, Israel, Switzerland, Italy, Russia, and Tajikistan. As a composer, the musician was conferred on a number of awards.

 

Soloist ud performer of the concert, Mahmoud Turkmani was born in Lebanon. Currently, he teaches classical guitar and ud at the Bern Conservatoire. Mahmoud Turkmani is the creator of a quartet called “Ludus”.
