Mugham Marathon is listened to with much interest at night hours in Icherisheher

On June 24, the project “Mugham Marathon” was launched at Shirvanshahlar Palace in Icherisheher, within the framework of the Space of Mugam 6^th International Music Festival.

In this project, our well-known singers and electronic musicians performed.

At each hour of the 24-hour project, 24 singers jointly performed mugham, replacing each other at the same place, together with the accompanying them group. Along with singers, 25 electronic musicians too performed, replacing each other.

Organized within the framework of the Space of Mugam 6^th International Music Festival, the Mugham Marathon was a non-stop travel through the magic world of mugham for listeners, throughout the day.

Sharing his thoughts about the festival with AZERTAG, Honoured Artist Tayyar Bayramov said: “Today is a holiday of music. The 6^th International Music Festival is nearing the end in our country. On June 18, a grandiose opening of the festival took place. The next day, we gave a concert at the Museum of Stone Annals. Concerts were organized almost in every corner of the country in the framework of the festival, holding at the same time a music contest. I am delighted that my student Mirali Saryzade took the 1^st place at the contest. Another participant, young singer Dashgyn Kurchayly was honoured with the 2^nd place. I want to congratulate all of them”.

Talking with regard to his today’s performance, the honoured artist said: “A number of our singers will participate in tonight’s event. I performed “Shur” Mugham and “Shur” Desgah together with my friends – Rashad Ibrahimov, Tabriz Yusubov, and Vusal Bayramov. The audience welcomed us beautifully”.

The Space of Mugam International Music Festival is being held with the support and under the auspices of Azerbaijan’s First Vice-president, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva.
