Presentation of the carpet “State Architect. Life Encyclopedia” takes place within the framework of the Vagif’s Poetry Days

Presentation of an author’s work – a unique triptych, encyclopedic carpet composition entitled “State Architect. Life Encyclopedia”, dedicated to the 100^th anniversary of architect of contemporary Azerbaijan, National Leader Heydar Aliyev, took place within the framework of the Vagif’s Poetry Days in Shusha.

Co-authors of the project, realized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Economy and “Azerkhalcha” OJSC, are Honoured Person of Art, chairperson of “Azerkhalcha” OJSC’s Board of Directors Emin Mammadov, Honoured Artist Rashad Alakbarov, with executors being a creative team of “Azerkhalcha”. 11 weavers of Ismailly workshop of “Azerkhalcha” have worked on the triptych since May 2022.

Consisting of three sections, the artwork’s each section conveys the basic life philosophy of the National Leader, issues he had always paid attention and values attached importance to for the first time in “the language of a carpet”.

The first section pictures symbols reflecting the people’s unity and greatness according to the carpet’s composition. Taking into account the National Leader’s being together with the people in the struggle against foreign and internal conflicts our republic was subjected to during the 90^th of the last century, his reliance on the people’s trust and power, and the unity of the people and Heydar Aliyev are reflected on the carpet. And the contours of the carpet’s edge are given with the capital letters of the National Leader’s name and family name.

The theme of Heydar Aliyev and education is one of the themes of the carpet’s first section. Moreover, the same section pictures the National Leader’s love for our national music, the flower he loved the most – a cornel-colour rose, books he had believed to be moral richness, examples of national architecture constructed thanks to his endeavours and on direct initiative, stylized symbols of our culture – such elements as tar, kaman, gaval, Yally, tea in armudu glass etc.

At the time of the National Leader’s ruling Azerbaijan, the military school named after Jamshid Nakhchivanski was opened in Baku to train specialised national military men in the republic,and necessary faculties and departments were created at higher and secondary specialized schools to train specialists meeting contemporary requirements. This works of Heydar Aliyev, who has paid the foundation of the National Army building, have been reflected in the second section of the carpet.

Owing to the National Leader’s resolve, will and courage, Azerbaijan has become a pillar of peace in the region, with capital Baku turning into a platform for international cooperation. From this standpoint, the theme “The Contract of the Century” – authored by Heydar Aliyev – has also been reflected on the carpet.

Both during his first term in power, also after he had ruled independent Azerbaijan, the National Leader had attached great importance to agriculture, one of the leading areas of the economy, creating the basis for the development of the agrarian sector and wellbeing of people in the regions. The activities of the National Leader in this field has been reflected on the carpet.

The last and the main section of the triptych is called “The past and the future – at the crossroads of thoughts”, where a contemporary, line portrait of Heydar Aliyev is pictured. Here, Heydar Aliyev, always marching before his people, for whose prosperous future he had selflessly worked, always taking pride in its rich history and moral values, watches, from a high summit, the country’s present with great pride, and its future with confidence. “A symbol of an ideal community” – a picture of a family - is given in the example of the National Leader, surrounded by geometrical pattern elements of arms holding hand-in-hand, being considered as a symbol of “Unity, brotherhood and power”, making up edges of the carpet. And the flame, fire, birds – protecting angels, plants – abundance and prosperity, and rose in this section have been reflected as an elements of care and support for the future generations.
