The 2nd International Festival of Pianists starts due to support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation

The 2nd International Festival of Pianists started in the Town of Gabala by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, 15 July.

 

The draw was cast and the first round was heard in the opening at Qafqaz Resorte Hotel.

 

The contest involves 18 gifted pianists aged up to 35 from Azerbaijan, China, Korea, Russia, Turkey, Georgia, Japan, Mexico and Ukraine. Azerbaijan is represented by young pianist Nargiz Kangarli.

 

The participants will play works by world and European composers, also famous Azerbaijani composer Tofig Guliyev.

 

The contest consists of three rounds. The first round will be held on 15-16 July, the second round on 17-18 July, and the third on 19-20 July. The contest winners will compete on 22 July in the final concert accompanied by the Azerbaijan State Symphonic Orchestra named after Uzeyir Hajybeyli.

 

In the first round, the contest participants performed Prelude and Fugue by Bach, sonatas by Mozart and Haydn, and the Virtuous Etude by Chopin.

 

The jurors of the international contest include world famous musicians Sergio Perticaroli (Italy), Joachin Soriano (Spain), Manana Doyjashvili (Georgia), Valida Rasulova (Azerbaijan-USA), Ogtay Abasguliyev (Azerbaijan), Oksana Yablonskaya (USA), Stin Nokleberg (Norway), Mirtala Salazar (Mexico), Yu Sun Hiun (Korea), Jeremy Sipman (USA-Great Britain), Leonid Rosenberg (Israel), Zhu Keng (China-USA). Chairman of the jury is the honored academician of the International Academy of Arts under UN, professor of the Juliana Music Academy of the United States Oksana Yablonskaya.

 

As part of the contest, master classes will be given for young performers by world famous musicians and jurors under supervision of American pianist Oksana Yablonskaya.
