Event on 1 June – International Children’s Day Organized

Event on 1 June – International Children’s Day was organized at M.Magomayev Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Society by State Committee for Family, Woman and Child Problems, Education, Culture and Tourism, Youth and Sport ministries on the initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation. 

 

Representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations, international institutions saw at the lobby exhibition of handworks by children.

 

The event was opened by ‘Anthem of Children’ Rector of National Conservatoire, People’s Artist Siyavush Kerimi dedicated to the Children’s Year.

 

Chairwoman of State Committee for Family, Woman and Child Problems Hijran Huseynova, ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova, Education Minister Misir Mardanov, Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev, Youth and Sport Minister Azad Rahimov and Executive Director of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Elekberov congratulated children, wished them prosperity and happiness.

 

They noted 2009 was declared the Children’s Year by order of President Ilham Aliyev and it contributed to assurance of children rights, implementation of series of actions to discover their talent. In the past years state paid huge attention to children, this issue was always the focus of attention in the period of national leader Heydar Aliyev, every condition created for health and education of the youth.

 

Talking of concern of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, to children in need of special care and deprived of parental care the speakers underlined the Foundation has carried out significant projects to discover and raise talented children and this action is successfully underway.

 

Gifted children distinguished in the republican art and photo contests in frame of the Children’s Year were awarded honor certificates, diplomas and precious presents by different nominations.

 

The event ended with a concert by singers and amateur child groups.
