The 1st Forum of Children of Azerbaijan in Baku closed

December 18, the 1st Forum of Children of Azerbaijan in Baku was closed.


Initiated by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, State Committee for Family, Woman and Child Problems and “Nur” Child and Youth Public Union and dedicated to the results of the “Year of Child” in Azerbaijan and the 20th anniversary of UN Convention on the Rights of the Child the Forum involved over 250 children from regions of the republic.

 

An address to President Ilham Aliyev and a Final Declaration were adopted at the Forum.

 

Chairperson of “Nur” Child and Youth Public Union Sevinc Muradova informed of the Forum’s results, said working groups held discussions on the most important themes relating to children. According to her, major suggestions concerned protection of children in need of special care, patriotism, social lifestyle of children, national and moral values, courses of activities of child organizations.   


Stressing the Forum’s significance, Chairperson of the State Committee on Problems of Family, Woman and Child Hijran Huseynova assessed it as very important event in the public life of the country. She said it is huge honor to participate in the Forum that provided big opportunities to children to share their views and proposals in different spheres.

 

H.Huseynova was awarded the “Children’s Rights” Prize by “Nur” Child and Youth Public Union.

 

Ombudsman Elmira Suleimanova, Chairman of NGO Public Support Board by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, MP Azay Guliyev, Deputy Minister of Education Elmar Gasymov, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Novruz Guliyev highly valued the work of the Forum’s participants, wished them success.

 

The Forum was continued by concert.
