Round table ‘Planning of Services Based on Needs of Disabled Children Living in Azizbeyov District’ held due to support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation

Round Table ‘Planning of Services Based on Needs of Disabled Children Living in Azizbeyov District’ was held December 25 in Zira settlement by the Azizbeyov District Development Foundation and United Aid for Azerbaijan (UAFA) due to support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Representatives of a number of service spheres operating in Azizbeyov district discussed the services their institutions render to children with disabilities and the ways to develop these services.

Ilgar Mustafayev, Director of the Azizbeyov District Development Foundation, noted significance of identification of main needs of disabled children and helping them by the existing resource. 9 institutions act in the district for disabled children, one of which is for typical children. The biggest difficulty to the Azizbeyov District Development Foundation and UAFA is helping children at homes, not registered officially.

UAFA expert Maftuna Ismailova said 579 disabled children have officially been registered in Azizbeyov district, however more have not been registered. We want rights of these children hidden at homes to be guaranteed, those children, too, can use these services.

Several centers function in the district related to the Year of Child, one of them has been created at Boarding Home No.3. UAFA tries to change in future this institution into the sphere of service for disabled children at homes. Projects by government and Heydar Aliyev Foundation for children continue, despite the Year of Child is coming to an end.
