Park complex was opened in Zira settlement
Park complex was opened in Zira settlement on May 9.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva were sincerely met at the ceremony.
Fully reconstructed due to support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation the complex includes newly built culture and wedding palaces, sports and children grounds. Every circumstance for rest of residents has been created in the complex, decorative trees and flowers planted.

HAJY ALISAHIB (resident of the settlement): Dear President, I express You our deep gratitude for coming to our settlement. We have great honor o Your visit. You arrival makes us very happy and places big responsibility on us. I am 70 years old. It is the second time that I meet with the president. This is the highest value not to ordinary people of Zira only but to all the people of Azerbaijan. That is why we do not know how to thank You.
Let me give a little information to You about our settlement. Majority of people work in oil sector. Some used to work in the state farm. Mr President, we also had certain difficulties because of transition period. Lack of electric energy, reduction of workplaces, distance from the district center and city drove population into depression. Our late President, great leader helped the people in that difficult period of the republic. And then Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva helped us. We understand, she would win 100% of votes from any district of Baku but she chose us. Our district is distant, at the same time there were non-developed settlements such as Zira, Turkan. It is great respect towards us. Mr President, here is the result. You see, the settlement is repaired. This is just the visible side. I shall tell You invisible sides. Only several streets of the settlement have not been asphalted. Main streets have been illuminated. All this are labor of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva. Of course, under Your leadership. We do not how to express gratitude to You and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva. Thank You very much. But we will express our gratitude in the elections. I believe not only our settlement but our district will be the leader of elections. Mr President, I again express You our gratitude.
ILHAM ALIYEV: Thank you. I am very glad that Zira settlement has significantly been changed. You talked here of our services. This is our duty. I as president and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva as your deputy. It is our duty to be attentive towards our voters, promote the works ongoing in Azerbaijan and in the district, to take initiative to improve life of people, solve social issues, implement reconstruction works. We see it all in the sample of Zira. We see the social issues are solved. I just attended the opening of a nice hospital. That building’s construction was left incomplete for decades and its future was not certain. But that has now been repaired in the very modern level, almost reconstructed and supplied with latest medical equipment. There is a maternity department and it is very necessary for every place, specially for settlements, villages distant from the city. There is stadium, culture house as well.
Today I met with veterans both in Baku and here. We opened the memorial complex here. All this are innovation, reconstruction, development. Growing resources of Azerbaijan provide extra opportunities to us to do it for shorter time. Of course, financial resources play important role. But if no initiative is taken, there will be no result no matter how much resource there is. I highly value huge works ongoing in Zira and surrounding settlements. It must be so. Representatives elected by all the people must serve the people. President, MP, chairman of municipality. People elected by all the nation and appointed by the President must work for the nation with big responsibility. This is my vision, my belief. I have come to this office to serve the nation and seeing innovation, modernity I feel happy. All places in Azerbaijan must be so. Taking the situation here was quite another 3 years ago, - you know it better than me, - I highly assess works done during this time. Zira residents had a lot of trouble in this, they took active part in all these initiatives. Issues they raised have been solved. Because you know your problems better than everyone. All this beauty has been achieved due to joint work of local residents, central bodies and people elected by you. I am very glad that the new look of Zira is in the level of the most advanced cities of the world. You deserve it and bigger works will be done in future.

Then, President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse were acquainted with the culture house, which is consisted of the 120-seat hall, library, lesson rooms and computer room.
There is also a corner dedicated to activities of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP.
President Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva viewed the park from the culture house’s balcony, then talked in the child ground to children, were taken photo.
Then, President and First Lady were familiarized with the 400-seat wedding palace within the complex.
Buildings constructed in high level in the reconstructed settlement have been assured with all necessary facilities and departments for convenience of residents.
